Launch of AI Forum’s First Token Gated Community

AI Funding News
In a huge Series B round of five hundred and eighty million dollars, Anthropic attracted several major names including crypto wunderkind Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of FTX and Jaan Tallinn a serial investor and co-founder of Skype. The scale and importance of Anthropic’s research is in a league of its own. However, the fact that a not-for-profit attracted such significant funding (one year after being founded) marks this as one of the most significant deals in 2022.
The popular Machine Learning platform Hugging Face based in New York City, reached a significant milestone with a one hundred million US dollar Series C finance round, led by Sequoia Capital and Coatue a New York based technology Hedge fund. Hugging face has long championed open source Learning Data for Machine Learning and claims to have five thousand organisations using the service. Pachama raised fifty five million US dollars in Series B finance. Based in San Francisco, the firm uses data, artificial intelligence and automation to help “protect ecosystems, restore forests, and improve carbon markets”. said Carmichael Roberts, from Breakthrough Energy Ventures said: “It’s not a secret that forests are essential to removing carbon from the atmosphere, and yet the current afforestation market is fragmented and expensive”.
Slamcore are a UK based company specialising in “localization, mapping and perception software for robots and consumer products, turning sensor data into real-time spatial understanding”. The firm raised sixteen million US dollars in Series A finance led by Robo Global and Presidio Ventures. In their press release, SLAMcore claim that, “the market for autonomous and spatially aware machines is predicted to be in excess of $100bn or £799m by 2030”
