Interview with Dr Vinesh Sukumar
Qualcomm recently unveiled a new architecture called the Qualcomm AI Stack. This production ready architecture is intended to accelerate the build and deployment of smarter AI applications for OEMs and developers. SDKs have been developed for a number of verticals with an ambitious roadmap. The following interview discussed this milestone with Dr Vinesh Sumumar, Senior Director and Head of AI and Machine Learning Product Management at Qualcomm.
AI funding news
In funding news, Ataccama based in Toronto, Canada, raised one hundred and fifty million US dollars from Bain Capital Tech Ventures. Ataccama is data management company founded in 2007, after being spun off from Adastra. The firm uses AI for data lifecycle management and will use the funding on product development and go to market activity.
Pagaya completed its listing on the NASDAQ in late June 2022, raising three hundred and fifty million US dollars. The firm combines Big Data and Machine Learning for Buy Side firms (including discretionary, pension and insurance funds) focused on fixed income and alternative credit analysis.
AiVF based in Tel Aviv, raised twenty five million US dollars in Series A. From their press release, “[AiVF’s] EMA platform provides an optimized end-to-end IVF journey to individuals seeking Assisted Reproductive Technologies for their family building. The advanced machine learning and computer vision algorithms developed by AiVF have the potential to shorten the time to pregnancy and increase IVF predictability and success rates.
Results of clinical research, performed with leading IVF clinics in Europe and the US, demonstrated that the EMA platform performs 50 times faster and is 48% more accurate than an embryologist in the clinic. ”
